Description The Instituto Valenciano de Finanzas is a Public Entity under the Conselleria de Economia, Hacienda y Empleo (Department of Economy, Finance and Employment) of the Generalitat with separate legal identity and full public and private capacity, which was formed by means of the eighth additional provision of Law 7/1990 of December 28 of the Generalitat Valenciana.

FUNCTIONS

The purpose of the IVF is to act as the main financial and public credit policy-making instrument of the Generalitat, and its basic duties are as follows:

1. Management of the debt of the Generalitat and its autonomous bodies and companies.
2. Long-term financing of production-related investments made by companies in the Autonomous Community of Valencia.
3. Performance of competences relating to the control, inspection and discipline of financial institutions under the supervision of the Generalitat, and the exercise of its stock market related competence.

STRATEGIC PLAN

At the present time, the work developed from the Valencian Institute of Finances is framed in Strategic Plan 2005-2009, document that is allowing to operate to the maximum all the potentialities of this organism, being optimized its services and consolidating therefore mark IVF in the economic and financial panorama of the Valencian Comunitat.

This Strategic Plan structure in five great lines of performance: diversification and extension of the supply of products and services of the IVF; optimization of the financing of the Generalitat and its public sector; deepening in the prudencial supervision of the financial organizations; consolidation of a situation of financial balance for the IVF; and generation of greater visibility of this organism in the economic and financial scopes.

With the development of all these performances, the IVF aspires to stay like organization of reference within the Valencian public sector, characterized by their high degree of profesionalización and autonomy in the management.
